A dream of eminent perspectivists has been to combine all perspective types into a single model, and instantly switch types. Whereby we build one or more of the following capabilities into more advanced perspective systems.
We can tentitively list develpment stages required for a universal perspective method/system…
- Universal Theory: combine all perspective types into a single model, and switch types (ref. interactive image: querying / sequencing / exploration, etc).
- Categories of space: reconciliation of the different categories of space with perspective. Auto-mapping of perspective frameworks, scales/meters, distortion quantifiers, viewpoint changes, measuring cursors, throttles, steering wheels, etc.
- Geometrical forms: analytic, descriptive, projective and fractal geometries. Levels of abstraction and visualisation. Universal geometries.
- Database of standard object forms: link to Image Forms (AI database), auto spatial-recognition/shape-matching.
- Database of standard scene geometries: link to image forms (AI database), projection of spatial gauges/scales.
- Production/integration of primary perspective views: Mathematical links for ground plan and elevation (frontal). Primary geometry.
- Production/integration of secondary perspective views: horizontal, worm’s eye, bird’s eye, global/object and panoramic perspectives. Secondary geometry.
- Production/integration of visual panoramas, cylindrical, curvilinear, and spherical perspective(s). Magnified views, context views, etc.
- Unification of multiple perspectives: understand how the mind achieves viewpoint/scale/time correspondence and systemise.
- Shape grammars: understand and systematically model, transformations of shape with viewing position and scale. Scene/object grammars. Visual encyclopaedia.
- Multi-layer and transparent perspectives: systematically look inside/through opaque objects/scenes and combine/link/orient/navigate perspectives. Contextualising Instruments are overlaid onto views/images: maps, scales/meters, throttles, steering wheels, wayfinding routes, etc.
- Hypermedia and Hypergrams: Focus + Context within perspective views/images; using Hyper-Links, forward/back/omni/manifold links. Levels of magnifications/minifications, spans and scales of knowledge, macro/micro, facetted classification.
- Optical systems: Image capture, analysis, projection, display. Image analysis.
- Digital filmmaking: SFX, volume displays, LED panels, VR/AR/MR/XR.
- Artificial Intelligence: counterfeit perspectives (generation).
- Artificial Intelligence: Image analysis/categorisation (automated).
- Virtual Reality: VR, AR, MR, XR: dynamism of egocentric/exocentric, inner/outer, ways to navigate the levels of abstraction, scale, shape, size, viewpoint integration etc.
- Certification of vision: validation of sight, image measurement, and image representation, whereby we make accurate views, images, maps, and models.
- Computer vision: new perspective techniques for the development of an embodied Artificial Intelligence (AI) that correctly perceives the optical world in all of its visual complexity, ambiguity, unity/partition, and variety.
- Expand the Field of Human vision: panoramas, high-resolution cameras/displays, etc.
- Levels of abstraction: systematically model the different levels of abstraction and operate as a bridge between the concreteness of nature and abstractions of mathematics. Navigate from universal to particular concepts / images.
- Integrated perspective(s): universal visual hypermedia format (+ metadata) to index, link, and explore all the world’s images (2-D, 3-D images, etc).
- Visual User Interface: navigate the different layers of abstraction from ideas to physical objects in all their layers of magnification (and combination/abstraction). Universals to particulars, wholes, parts, inside/outside, and relations few and many, scales big and small etc.
- Multiverse / Universe cross-matching: merging of real-time/fictive-time, object/scene, overlays/underlays; boundless real/digital viewpoint changes.
- Digital Metaverse/Multiverse: Ongoing R&D into a digital twin of earth, etc.
